Objective:
USDA and CATIE (Tropical Agriculture Research and Higher Education) scientists will conduct collaborative research in production techniques, evaluation of promising cacao clones, and nutrient uptake in support of small-holder cacao producers in Central America, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico.

Approach:
Improve cacao productivity through the study of major production constraints, evaluation and release of superior clones, and dissemination of information through publications and popular articles.
