Objective:
Develop an interface method for a novel grain moisture measurement instrument and development of an instrumented autonomous measurement system for field phenotyping of grain crops.

Approach:
A. A unique method of grain moisture measurement that is inexpensive and suitable for probing bins and other bulks can benefit by the development of a better interface based on a smart phone or tablet platform. This would reduce cost and expand capabilities. B. Breeders and agronomists are increasingly using field phenotyping of grain and other crops as a method to evaluate varieties and cultivars under different environmental conditions. Autonomous platforms equipped with multiple sensing systems can help to provide more timely information using less human resources.
