Objective:
To 1) obtain germplasm of Chenopodium species for conservation in the U.S. National Plant Germplasm System, and 2) document populations of Chenopodium species from which germplasm is collected.

Approach:
Germplasm of several Chenopodium species will be collected from wild populations in Utah, Wyoming, Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Louisiana and Texas. Germplasm will be collected in the form of seeds and will be documented with locality, latitude, and longitude, elevation, plant description and growing environment. Herbarium voucher specimens will be made as appropriate. A detailed trip report, including information on all samples obtained, will be provided to ARS.
