Objective:
Compare, between test sites and across successive harvests, the proportion of walnuts infested by codling moth and the proportion navel orangeworm.

Approach:
Obtain samples of walnuts from study sites during harvest, and store at -20C until evaluation. Crack open individual walnuts, and note defect categories, if any. If insect infested, categorize damage based on presence of life stages, webbing, or frass.
