Develop improved technology for detection and control of invasive tephritid fruit flies in California.

1) Improve spatial deployment and optimize numbers of traps in fruit fly trapping grids. 2) Evaluate effectiveness of insecticide for control of tephritid fruit flies. 3) Determine possibility of reducing male annihilation treatments used in control of oriental fruit fly and evaluate fluorinated methyl eugenol as a replacement for methyl eugenol.
