Research Project: Maintaining Water Quality Monitoring Infrastructure for the St. Joseph River Watershed Conservation Effects Assessment Project

Location: National Soil Erosion Research

Project Number: 5020-12130-003-03-S
Project Type: Non-Assistance Cooperative Agreement

Start Date: Sep 1, 2013
End Date: Aug 30, 2018

Objective:
Identify the impact of agricultural conservation practices on surface and subsurface runoff water quality and quantity in the St. Joseph River watershed and the Western Lake Erie Basin.

Approach:
Monitor water quality and quantity from field (~5-10 acres) to watershed (up to about 40,000 acres) in the St. Joseph River watershed. Maintain monitoring equipment and initial processing of water quality samples, and technology transfer to and from landowners and agricultural producers in the St. Joseph River Watershed.
