Location: Soybean and Nitrogen Fixation Research
Project Number: 6070-21220-068-38-A
Project Type: Cooperative Agreement
Start Date: Jan 1, 2014
End Date: Dec 31, 2016
To develop high yielding drought tolerant cultivars adapted to Georgia and other drought-prone U.S. environments.
A broad range of soybean germplasm will be screened for drought tolerance in the field and greenhouse. Genetics of tolerance will be ascertained through QTL mapping, resulting ultimately in development breeder-friendly DNA markers for marker assisted selection.
