Optimally configure conversion technology for genetically improved oilseed feedstocks and pre-treatment requirements to reduce the cost of hydrotreatable renewable jet (HRJ) fuels produced. Lower HRJ fuel production costs by optimized operational settings to plant oils genetically enhanced for conversion and processing efficiency.
Yields to jet fuel and hydroconversion processing costs vary significantly with the molecular structure of the triglyceride hydrocarbon chain. Variations in the chain length, degree of olefinicity amount and location of additional oxygen-containing functional groups all affect processing cost and yields. Cooperator has vast experience with a variety of feedstocks that has provided a basis for understanding the important aspects of the molecular structure of the feedstock. Experience has shown that manipulation of the source seed oil chemical structure coupled with optimized hydroconversion operating conditions can affect yields of jet fuel by as much as 10% making the genetic modification strand of work very substantial in minimizing the cost of HRJ fuel derived from seed oils.
