Assess the state of the science through cross-disciplinary perspectives on the neurobiology of the rewarding aspects of food intake and behavior.
Organize a workshop of up to 40 scientists from academia, food industry, and government to a 1-2 day workshop. Publish proceedings of the meeting. Key research areas the conference will address include: • Overview of neurobiology research on hedonic and homeostatic regulation of food reward and behavior in both animal and human models. • Challenges in measurements, methodologies, definitions and interpretations of food reward behavior research. • Mechanism of function, mode of action and neuropathways. • Future research guidance, with emphasis on multidisciplinary approaches.
