2013 Annual Report

1a. Objectives (from AD-416):
Determine the effect of glyphosate on mineral content of glyphosate-resistant corn and soybeans.

1b. Approach (from AD-416):
Inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) will be used to determine the content of up to 20 minerals in plant tissues and seeds of glyphosate-treated and untreated glyphosate-resisant crops from field studies in Maryland, Mississippi, and Illinois.

3. Progress Report:
Samples from Stoneville, MS, and Urbana, IL, have begun to arrive, and processing and analyses of them has started. Samples from Beltsville, MD, have not begun to arrive yet this year. All samples for calendar year 2013 will be ready for analysis by the end of August, 2013.
