2012 Annual Report

1a. Objectives (from AD-416):
The objective of this project is to support the development of a data package by European scientists for the deregulation of 'HoneySweet' plum in the European Union (EU).

1b. Approach (from AD-416):
The cooperator will: 1) provide expertise on regulatory issues related to the approval of genetically engineered crops in the EU; 2) provide documents and other support materials to in-house scientists and their European counterparts that will aid in the development of data packages specific to the regulatory requirements of the EU; and 3) assist in the organization of meetings and participate in meetings between U.S. and EU researchers aimed at developing the data necessary for an EU deregulation dossier for 'HoneySweet' plum.

3. Progress Report:
Dougherty Enterprises is supporting these efforts and is serving as a coordinator for dossier development. They coordinated a key meeting held in the Czech Republic, and outlined a clear path for dossier development and submission. This includes development of a timeline, tasking specific individuals with dossier preparation, and coordinating activities. Dougherty Enterprises, Inc. has also identified several experienced individuals capable of formalizing and submitting the final dossier and providing additional support as needed throughout the regulatory process.
