Grasshopper and Mormon Cricket Outbreak Forecasts and Survey Information

Please note: We are in the process of updating our existing grasshopper site to make it mobile friendly. To start that process we've moved over our grasshopper hazard maps (1994-2019) and survey maps to the new site. Until the update for the entire site is completed you will be redirected between the old and new websites. We apologize for the inconvenience.

U.S. Grasshopper Forecast Maps (Hazard Maps)

A collection of regional grasshopper forecast or hazard maps for the western United States compiled by USDA-APHIS starting in 1994.  The maps summarize the previous year's grasshopper densities to show the anticipated risk, or hazard, of grasshopper problems throughout the western U.S for the year specified. The number of eggs laid by grasshoppers during the summer and weather conditions in the winter and spring can have large impacts on grasshopper densities, but are not reflected in the forecast maps.

Hazard maps: 2020, 2019, 2018, 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, 2011, 2010, 2009, 2008, 2007, 2006, 2005, 2004, 2003, 2002, 2001, 2000, 1999, 1998, 1997, 1996, 1995, 1994
