Biographical Description:

Kaitlyn is an undergraduate student at Kansas State University majoring in Life Sciences, secondarily majoring in Natural Resources and Environmental Science and minoring in Animal Science and Biology. She currently works as a Biological Science Aide in Dr. Rob Morrison’s lab within the Stored Insects and Engineering Research Unit at the USDA-ARS Center for Grain and Animal Health. Her research is focused on the trapping and behavioral response of Eucosma giganteana to semiochemicals exhibiting congeneric attraction to other Eucosma spp. and putative identification of the species’ sex pheromone for management in novel Silphium agroecosystems. After Kaitlyn graduates, she hopes to combine her love of animals and the environment for conservation efforts.
