The Breakfast Study
Why are we doing this study?
We are seeking participants for a study on how different aspects of breakfast food affect eating.
Who is eligible for this study?
- A U.S. citizen between ages 18 and 50
- Not planning to or currently attempting to gain or lose weight
- Do not have any significant health conditions
- Do not smoke or use other tobacco products, including e-cigarettes
- Are not pregnant, nursing, or planning to become pregnant
- Are not following a special diet
What is required of me for this study?
If you decide to participate in this study, your participation will include:
- Coming to the GFHNRC for an information/consenting meeting and 2 study visits
- Eating a specific breakfast and lunch meal on the 2 study visits (all food and drinks will be provided)
- Completing questionnaires about your health, hunger, fullness, and desire to eat
- Having your height and weight measured
- Keeping a 1-day food diary
Will I get compensated for my time?
After your participation in the study, you will have the choice of receiving $390 or getting a membership to Choice Health and Fitness. For the Choice Health and Fitness membership, you have the choice of either a 6-month individual membership or a 4-month family membership. You will also contribute to meaningful research that may benefit others in the future.
Important Information for Non-US Citizens
Please be aware, compensation is offered for study participation. If you are not a United States citizen, you should check your documentation to make sure you can receive money from a non-University source without jeopardizing your status in the United States.
