Dr. David Parker is the Research Leader of the Environmental Management Research Unit. He joined ARS in 2010 after a 13-year career at West Texas A&M University in Canyon, Texas, holding the final rank of Professor of Environmental Science and Engineering, and Director of the Odor and GC/MS Laboratories. Prior to his academic appointment, he was a consulting environmental engineer in private industry for 7 years, working for large companies in Idaho and Washington. In his early career, Dr. Parker gained considerable research experience with erosion/sedimentation and soil/water quality. At the U.S. Meat Animal Research Center, Dr. Parkerthe measurement and abatement of odor, VOC, ammonia, hydrogen sulfide, and greenhouse gas emissions from animal feeding operations.
