My project aims to identify the effects of elevated temperature on soybean yield and seed quality for a variety of genotypes. My goal is to predictively link physiological responses with end-of-season outcomes and identify opportunities for improvement of soybean heat tolerance through breeding. In addition, I am developing reactive transport models of soil nutrients under simulated elevated air temperatures and drought to understand the topsoil and subsoil nutrient responses as predicted from kinetics and thermodynamics
