     Sarah Hayward is a Biological Science Technician at the USDA, Agricultural Research Service, Dale Bumpers Small Farms Research Center in Booneville, AR. Sarah graduated from Southern Arkansas University in Magnolia, AR in 2011 with a Bachelors in General Studies in Agriculture. She worked on her family’s Dairy Farm for 10 years. In March 2016 she did a six month appointment with US Forest Service marking timber. In January 2017 she was hired as an animal caretaker at DBSFRC, caring for small ruminants and cattle. She now manages the small ruminants and became very involved in cattle and sheep research. She has spoken to producers about research, lambing issues, and the benefits of high animal welfare standards.
