Current Research Projects:

Dr. Hall develops integrated pest management technologies for plant-eating insects and mites through research in such areas as insect ecology; biological control; plant resistance; sampling methodology; and quantitative research on damage by pests. His research programs have emphasized augmentation biological control, sampling procedures and economic assessments of pest damage. Dr. Hall works primarily with citrus, vegetable and ornamental insect problems under USDA-ARS National Program 304, Crop Protection and Quarantine. Prior to joining the Subtropical Insect Research Unit in 2003, Dr. Hall worked for private industry conducted researching on integrated pest management of citrus and sugarcane insects in and around the Florida Everglades Agricultural Area. His team research activities involve collaboration and cooperation with other research units at the U.S. Horticultural Research Laboratory as well as university, regulatory and other federal agencies both nationally and internationally.
