Dr. Lu received his Ph.D. in 2018 from Washington State University where he spent several years studying antimicrobial peptide regulation and immunity.  Dr. Lu joined USDA-ARS at the National Center of Agricultural Utilization research (NCAUR) in 2019, where his current work focuses on bacteria and yeast expression systems using molecular and bioinformatic approaches for development of enzybiotics and antimicrobial peptides against biorefinery microbial contaminants.
