Research Interests:

Dr. Bryant is a Research Soil Scientist for the Pasture Systems and Watershed Management Research Unit. He contributes to research projects "Management and conservation practices to improve water quality in agroecosystems of the northeastern US" and "Managing farms for environmental stewardship and profit." Dr. Bryant uses knowledge of soil and landscape processes to devise strategies, such as chemical- and bio-filtration, for preventing the movement of nutrients from agricultural fields to drainage waters that eventually flow to the Chesapeake Bay. Most of his current research is conducted in partnership with faculty and students at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore, an 1890's historically black university located in Princess Anne, MD.
