Mission:
The mission of the Microbial and Chemical Food Safety Research Unit is to conduct high-quality innovative research for 1) detecting harmful chemical and biochemical contaminants, 2) developing microbial predictive models and methods, and 3) developing novel intervention and packaging technologies to mitigate risks, enhance quality, extend the shelf-life of raw and processed foods. We will transfer the new technologies to stakeholders in the public and private sectors to ensure a safe and high-quality food supply.
