To develop scientific knowledge and technologies applied by land users to optimize farming and sustainable management of resources for future generations. Our vision is to use the best science to create the most effective methods and decision support tools with and for farmers and stakeholders. Our goals (BUSHELS) are to: Better management options within fields and for farms, including sustainable agriculture; Understand processes that maximize production and return on investment by minimizing losses; Support soil health with technology to grow profitable, nutritious, quality food and fiber products; Help economies of rural landscapes and to be recognized for their value, heritage, and identity; Enable practical solutions, cost effective tools, and user-friendly decision-support models; Lower drought and flood risks by improving water quantity and quality; and Stay connected and respond to the needs of stakeholders and farming communities.
