Areas of expertise: Insect molecular biology and physiology

Dr. Choi’s research focuses on the biology of arthropods and developing biologically-based management strategies for key arthropod pests on small fruits and nursery crops.

Research tools include, 1) Receptor interference (Receptor-i) with neuropeptide and G-protein coupled receptor (GPCR) to identify bioactive peptides, 2) RNA interference (RNAi), and 3) semiochemicals including pheromone, for insecticide discovery.
