Biography and Research

Richard (Rick) Haig has been a Physical Science Technician at NCAUR, USDA-ARS, Peoria, IL since 1982. Rick received his B.S. in Psychology from Illinois State University. Rick works with Dr. Atanu Biswas and a team of scientist conducting research on the conversion of starch and other natural plant materials into value-added products. Rick uses extrusion processing and physical/chemical testing of the new materials.
