Agricultural Engineer

Research Objectives

  1. Identify sustainable cropping, management, and conservation practices that utilize manure as a valuable nutrient source for crop production while minimizing adverse environmental impacts.
  2. Lead efforts to describe and quantify the hydrologic characteristics of agricultural production systems that sustain productivity, conserve natural resources, and minimize environmental degradation.
  3. Assess and manage antibiotic resistance, nutrients, and pathogens in animal-impacted agroecosystems.
  4. Conduct field studies to determine the effects of varying setback distance on the concentrations and mass transport rates of selected water quality constituents following land application of beef cattle and swine manure.
