Vegetable Insect Research Objectives:

  • Develop and improve conventional commodity treatments to meet quarantine requirements for export of vegetable and deciduous fruits.
  • Develop systems approaches for important pests of vegetables and deciduous fruits to eliminate the need for quarantine treatments.
  • Perform fundamental research to develop innovative methods and strategies to reduce pesticide residues on vegetables and deciduous fruits meet domestic and quarantine requirements of countries that import U.S. commodities.

Researchers Conducting Postharvest Research at YARL:

            - Dr. Neven is working toward providing the tree fruit industry with data needed to propose irradiation and CATTS as quarantine treatments for a variety of tree fruits.
