Dr. Tom Shanower is one of two Associate Area Directors in the Pacific West Area. He joined the PWA in February 2015 from his previous position as Center Director at the USDA-ARS Center for Grain and Animal Health Research in Manhattan, Kansas. Associate Area Directors assist the Area Director in providing leadership and line management to the programs and staff in the PWA.
