Annual Coordination Meeting of the Water and Livelihoods Initiative (WLI) in Amman Jordan, November 2014
Ibrahim Shaqir, Director, Office of International Research Programs (OIRP), participated in the "Annual Coordination Meeting of the Water and Livelihoods Initiative (WLI)" November 11-12, 2014 in Amman Jordan, at the invitation of the International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA). The WLI, initiated in 2010, is funded by USAID and managed by ICARDA. The program aims to improve the livelihoods of rural households and communities in Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Palestine, Syria, and Yemen. These seven countries suffer from limited water supplies and land and water quality issues that can exacerbate food security and health problems.
