September 18 - 19, 2014. Jennifer Woodward-Greene, ARS Office of International Research Programs (OIRP), was invited to participate in the USAID Frontiers in Development Forum - "Ending Extreme Poverty" at USAID Headquarters in Washington DC. The event took on this great challenge by engaging a dynamic community of global thought leaders to apply new and innovative approaches to eradicate extreme poverty within two decades, as President Obama indicated in his 2013 State of the Union address. Speakers included US Secretary of State, John Kerry; Winnie Byanyima, Oxfam International Executive Director; and John Kufuor, former President of Ghana, with numerous discussion panels featuring former US Secretary of State Madeline Albright, and former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, Tony Blair as well as other accomplished experts.
