Melanie Peterson, ARS Office of International Research Programs (OIRP) Inter-Agency White House Briefing for USAID PREDICT Melanie Peterson, ARS Office of International Research Programs (OIRP) participated in a USAID PREDICT Team, USG-only interagency briefing at the White House Conference Center (Lincoln) on Wednesday December 10, 2014. PREDICT (PREvent, Detect, ConTrol) is focused on strengthening capacity to combat emerging pandemic threats through early identification and response to dangerous pathogens from animals before they infect humans. The briefing included discussion of the Emerging Pandemic Threats (EPT) Program, EPT/PREDICT's achievements during its first 5-year phase, and a discussion of future directions. The meeting served as partial preparation for an upcoming, broader meeting to include non-USG partners. More ARS International Action.
