Uzbekistan - U.S. Life Sciences Collaboration AAAS Meeting May 2013 in Washington D.C.- Biosecurity Engagement Action |
| ARS researchers were invited to American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS) headquarters, Washington, DC, May 13-15, 2013 to participate in the AAAS and the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan workshop :"Uzbekistan - U.S. Life Sciences Collaboration: Strengthening relations and enhancing cooperation".The researchers attended based on their work in the ARS Office of International Research Programs (OIRP) managed 'State Department Biosecurity Engagement Program' (DOS/BEP) , and a September 2012 event in Tashkent, Uzbekistan where their ARS-DOS/BEP projects were recognized as "the most successful of all U.S. Government supported programs because their activities were based on mutually beneficial research interests such as cotton research and built on Uzbekistan's agriculturally-based economy." |
