ARS Knipling-Bushland US Livestock Insects Research Laboratory to Host Three Ukrainian Scientists

September 3 - 16, 2014. The ARS Knipling-Bushland U.S. Livestock Insects Research Laboratory (KBUSLIRL) hosted three Ukrainian scientists from the Institute of Experimental and Clinical Veterinary Medicine, Kharkhiv, as part of the "African Swine Fever Threat Reduction through Surveillance in the Ukraine" research project funded by the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA).  During the visit, ARS and Ukrainian collaborators discussed the research methodology for the project, conducted joint field trips to collect soft ticks and participated in the Joint Annual Meeting of the Department of Homeland Security Center Excellence for Zoonotic Animal Disease Defense in Nashville, TN, September 8 - 10.
