International Aflatoxin Control Workshop, New Orleans, May 14-16, 2013 |
| ARS / USAID sponsored an International Aflatoxin Control Workshop in New Orleans, LA May 14 to 16, 2013. The ARS Southern Regional Research Center (SRRC) and the ARS Office of International Research Programs (OIRP) coordinated the event in consultation with USAID. Roughly 50 government, academia and industry researchers from affected regions of the world who can lead the charge towards solving this problem attended. The workshop highlighted major breakthroughs in aflatoxin elimination research and identified next steps to implementation, and consensus on the current state-of-the-art in aflatoxin control research and technology. From this foundation, a major outcome of this workshop is identification of major research foci and research collaborations to advance elimination of aflatoxin contamination. |
