LIQUID NITROGEN


In case of contact with liquid nitrogen

Suffocation:

  • If person seems to become dizzy or looses consciousness, move to a well-ventilated area immediately.
  • If breathing has stopped, apply artificial respriation
  • Call a physician. Keep warm and at rest.

Frost bite:

  • Frozen tissues should be flooded or soaked with tepid water at 106 F (42 C). Under no circumstances should the water be over 112 F (44 C)

Do NOT rub frozen parts either before or after re-warming. The patient should neither smoke nor drink alchol.


  • Remove or loosen clothing that may constrict blood circulation to the frozen area. Call a physician.
