Compiles data on the nutrient composition of dairy and egg products, finfish and shellfish products and animal fats.  Monitors progress as COR on Cooperative Agreements with VPI/SU and University of Georgia.  Serves as a member of National Food and Nutrient Analysis Program (NFNAP) team and on QC review panel for data from laboratories.  Serves on Vitamin D project team to identify samples for analysis and review analytical data.  Received B.S. in chemistry from Loyola College and a Ph.D in biochemistry from the University of Maryland.

Responsible for developing representative nutrient values for fruits and fruit products and cereal grains and pasta.  Coordinates the yearly update of the USDA National Nutrient Database for Standard Reference (SR).  Serves as liaison with the Food Surveys Research Group to provide data for new food items and updated nutrients for SR items used for the Food and Nutrient Database for Dietary Surveys. Nutrients of interest include vitamin A, folate, and selenium.  Received a B.S. in Foods and Nutrition and a M.S. in Food Science from the University of Maryland.

Nutritionist from 1986 to the present with Nutrient Data Lab, Beltsville Human Nutrition Research Center (BHNRC), Agricultural Research Service (ARS), US Dept of Agriculture (USDA), Beltsville, MD 20705 (formerly Human Nutrition Information Service (HNIS).  Areas of interest and expertise include baby foods and infant formulas, snack foods, sweets (sugars, syrups, and confections), American Indian/Alaska Native foods, carbohydrates (sugars, starch, and dietary fiber), food sampling and data aggregations/statistics, and Dietary Guidelines (2005).  Received a B.S. in Nutrition from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University and a M.S. and Ph.D in Nutrition from the University of Maryland.

Coordinates efforts to compile, generate, validate, and disseminate data on the analytical composition of dietary supplements, as the team leader of the professional team in a research program aimed at initiating the dietary supplement ingredient database (DSID).  The DSID will provide critical information for assessing the total intake of nutrients and other components from supplements for their impact on public health.  Areas of interest include the impact of dietary supplements on nutrition status and overall health.  Received a B.S. in Dietetics from Purdue University and a M.S in Restaurant and Institutional Management from  Kansas State University.
