The mission of the Food Composition and Methods Development Laboratory (FCMDL) is to develop innovative measurement systems for the determination of food components that influence human health.
Areas of research are identified by considering the need for food composition data in the nutrition and health communities as well as the availability of relevant analytical measurement systems. Intra- and extra-mural collaborations are developed and laboratory research is conducted. Technology and data are shared and transferred to users through peer-reviewed publications, workshops, scientific meetings, and scientific contracts.
