CYTOKININ GENE INDUCED INSECT RESISTANCE

The cytokinin gene (ipt) mediated insect resistance has been shown to effectively enhance the resistance of transgenic plants to a number of insects. Leaf extracts prepared from resistant transgenic plants killed sugarbeet root maggot larvae.
