Mir Zaman joined NSERL in West Lafayette, Indiana, in November 2024 as a Biological Science Technician for Dr. Chad Penn's lab. In this role, he supports the lab's research activities relating to phosphorus adsorption and phosphorus leaching. He also supports other projects, including the Watershed Conservation Effects Assessment Project (CEAP).

Prior to this position, he worked at the W.K. Kellogg Biological Station at Michigan State University, where he conducted research on the environmental aspects of biofuel production, specifically concerning soil and water quality. He is a member of the American Society of Agronomy and the American Geophysical Union.
