Two meetings focusing on the control of BVDV in the U.S. will be held preceding the National Cattlemens Beef Association 2009 winter meeting in Phoenix.

One will be the 4^th U.S. BVDV Symposium. The fourth symposium is entitled "BVDV Variability: Impact on Virulence, HostRange and Control" and will begin the evening of  January 25, 2009, ending at noon on Jan. 27.  Since their inception in 2002 the U.S. BVDV Symposiums have been a great opportunity for researchers, practitioners and clinicians involved in all aspects of BVDV research - from basic virology to control to meet and share ideas. The meetings attract senior scientists and policy makers, but are also devoted to facilitating participation by young and upcoming researchers. ".

The Symposium will be followed by a meeting, beginning at 1:00 pm on Jan. 27, entitled "Integrated BVD Control Plans for Beef Operations".  This meeting is geared toward producers, extension veterinarians and practitioners interested in implementation of BVDV control strategies.  This meeting will start at 1:00 pm on Jan. 27.

4th U.S. BVDV Symposium

BVDV Variability: Impact on Virulence, HostRange and Control

Jan. 25-27, 2009

The meeting would begin 25th with a mixer/social that evening and continue with research presentations on the 26th and 27th ending at noon on the 27th.  The Symposium will include both oral presentations and a poster session.  All research scientists, veterinarians, laboratory diagnosticians and others with an interest in the control and eradication of BVDV are encouraged to attend.

The American Association of Veterinary State Boards RACE

(Registry of Approved Continuing Education)

 

 

The 2009 BVDV Symposium Program has been approved for 13 hours of continuing education credit in jurisdictions which recognize AAVSB RACE approval for veterinarians and veterinary technicians; however participants should be aware that some boards have limitations on the number of hours accepted in certain categories and/or restrictions on certain methods of delivery of continuing education. The Continuing Education sign-up sheets for participating veterinarians and veterinary technicians are available at the registration table.  Your Continuing Education Certificate of Attendance will be mailed to you upon the completion of the course.  If you have any questions please direct them to Dr. Ellis.
