Manlu Yu, is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Agriculture and Biosystems Engineering of NDSU. She began her work as a research assistant with Dr. Igathinathane Cannayen at NGPRL towards the partial fulfillment of her doctoral degree. Her research emphasis is on biomass preprocess engineering for various downstream applications. Manlu works collaboratively with the scientists of NGPRL, through Dr. Cannayen and Faller, and involved in the Specific Cooperative Agreement between NDSU and NGPRL. She will be providing technical support and conduct experiments in the “NDSU Biomass Testing Laboratory” and “NDSU Biomass Processing Laboratory” at NGPRL. She received her Masters degree in Biosystems Engineering from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, TN and her Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Northeastern University in China. She has engineering and research experiences in China, Sweden and the US. Manlu enjoys skiing, ice-skating, and volleyball.
