Welcome to the Sugarbeet and Bean Research Unit

Our research unit is located on the campus of MichiganStateUniversity at East Lansing, Michigan. Our research programs address priority issues in: 1) genetics, breeding, and diseases of sugarbeet; 2) genetics, breeding, and quality and utilization of dry bean; and 3) engineering technologies for quality measurement and grading of fruits and vegetables. The sugarbeet & bean research programs are adjunct with the Departments of Crop & Soil Science and Plant Pathology, and they are housed in the Plant & SoilSciencesBuilding. The engineering research program is adjunct with the Department of Biosystems & Agricultural Engineering in Farrall Hall.
