Linda Parnell

LINDA PARNELL started at the USMARC in June 1980 as a Staff Secretary II employed by the University of Nebraska, Lincoln.  In September 1982 the position was converted to a federal position and she became the secretary to the Research Leader for the Reproduction Research Unit.  Prior to employment with USDA, ARS, she worked ten years in the business world as a secretary in three different fields: manufacturing, movie theatre, and fire/ambulance supply.

Linda has been a member of the Northern Plains Area Council of Office Professionals (NPACOP) serving in the capacity of Welcome Packet Coordinator and as Chair.  Linda also served on the NPA Files Management Taskforce as Chair.  She is honored to have been nominated and selected to serve on the National Advisory Council for Office Professionals (NACOP).

Linda and her husband, Craig, have been married for 40+ years and have two children, Christopher and Tiffany.  Their son Christopher is an active member of the PVA and participates in billiards, bowling, and tennis leagues.  He enjoys traveling the U.S. to participate in various tournaments and has medaled in each of the National Veterans Wheelchair Games in which he has participated.  Tiffany and her husband, Christopher, are the parents of Christian, Cailynn, Jordyn, and Cody.  Their family enjoys school and community activities while including participation in bowling, soccer, softball, t-ball, and volleyball.  Craig and Linda are active members of their church’s adult choir and enjoy helping with select community projects.  However, their favorite time is that with family; they enjoy being the support group and cheering squad for the activities of their children and grandchildren.
