Most P desorption was rapid, occurring within
the first 30 minutes of contact between soil and solution.

Reactive P concentrations in solution increased
as the salt concentration decreased from 0.01 M CaCl2 to RO
water (Figure 2-A), confirming that solution chemistry determines P desorption.

The solution:soil ratio further affects RP
desorption to solution, because concentrations decreased as the solution:soil
ratio increased from 200:1 to 2000:1 (Figure 2-B).

Strong correlations existed between RP concentrations
and various soil P tests. The strongest correlations were with 0.01
M CaCl2 solution for all soil P tests (Table 2).
