With an organized effort return flow water quality can be improved. The Twin Falls Canal Company, which is about 80% surface irrigated, installed sediment ponds and wetlands at the same time farmers were implementing BMPs. Irrigation return flow water quality has gradually improved during the last 10 years (Table 7).
