Technical Abstract: Spray droplet size, droplet release height, wind speed and other factors affect spray drift. Several standards or guidelines for measuring drift are available. Spray collectors of many types have been used and several types of tracer have been used to simulate sprayed pesticides. Examples of several studies of drift measurement techniques and results are presented for ground boom sprayers, orchard air-blast sprayers, and aerial spraying.
