Technical Abstract: Fipronil and an analog were evaluated in water- and drill-seeded rice cultural systems for Rice Water Weevil (RWW) control. Applications were made as seed treatments, as preplant incorporations, and as foliar sprays. Results of these trials, the potential usefulness of fipronil and likely management strategies for the use of these chemicals for RWW control will be presented.
