Technical Abstract: Maverick soybean (Glycine max) was developed in cooperation with he U.S. Department of Agriculture, University of Illinois Agricultural Experiment Station, and the University of Missouri Agricultural Experiment Station. Maverick is a selection from LN86-4668 X Resnik. Maverick was released because of its higher yield when compared to cultivars of similar maturity (Maturity Group III) and its resistance to soybean cyst nematode (Heterodera glycines) races 3 and 14 and its resistance to phytophthora root rot (Phytophthora sojae races 1 and 3).
