Technical Abstract: The grasslands of the world occupy about 25% of the earth's land surface. The science of grassland agriculture covers a broad spectrum of disciplines and societal concerns. Grassland science is complex mainly due to the extreme diversity in plants, biota, and edaphic factors that comprise the grassland ecosystems. The purpose of this book, "The Evolving Science of Grassland Management", is to provide a review of the development of grassland science using the proceedings of past International Grassland Congresses. These proceedings are used to document the timing of significant changes that impacted the future direction of grassland science. The book is primarily a reference book using the scientific literature to cover the major areas of grassland agriculture and should be useful as a reference for advanced students and researchers.
