Interpretive Summary: Difficulties in maintaining longevity and production of stone fruit trees continue to be a problem in the United States. Interaction among researchers, extension personnel, and growers is an important avenue to which research results and observations regarding stone fruit decline can be accomplished. In 1990, the Fifth Stone Fruit Decline Workshop was held in Biglerville, PA, where people from the United States working on different decline problems gathered to exchange research results. The theme of this workshop was centered on "integrated crop management for the prevention of stone fruit decline." The workshop provides a means for exchanging valuable information among colleagues working on different stone fruit decline problems every two years. The potential benefits from the Proceedings and workshop are to provide a reference text and the possibility of developing new management strategies for stone fruit decline problems in the United States.
