Technical Abstract: Scarab larvae have been collected in the U.S. and Japan with amber disease symptoms. Utilizing Serratia selective media, bacterial isolates have been obtained from the digestive tracts of these larvae, and from soil collected in China. Several diagnostic techniques have been used to identify the bacterial isolates.
